

Cristina Rocío Gutiérrez Moreno a.k.a. Titihoon ​

​​​​​​​​Born in Venezuela and lived part of her life in the United States. She is an architect, illustrator, picture book author, comic artist, and researcher with postgraduates’ degree in Design Research and Professional Illustration from the University of Buenos Aires, where she deepened her study of creativity in various disciplines, including graphic arts. Based on this experience, she decided to pursue her work professionally as an illustrator. Titihoon won the 2021 National Arts Fund award for her book "25 Rayos" in Argentina. Resident artist at the Maison des Auteurs Angoulême, France this 2026.

​She bases her research on the materiality that emerges using color according to the technique applied, and one of her main interests is to try to express the beauty of nature in her work, hoping that this will touch the hearts of those who appreciate it. In her work, she also explores the different ways of inhabiting space, the influence that places generate, and the meaning they produce in living beings or characters. Besides drawing, she loves to swim, DJ for her friends and travel with a sketchbook.
